Our Story

You haven’t even peaked yet.

That’s more than a tagline—it’s a belief.
A challenge to the idea that our best years are behind us. And a reminder that endurance doesn’t fade with age—it builds.

We started Peak 38 because we believe our best years are still to come.

And we’ve got science on our side. In ultra distances (50k +) the peak age for men is 39 years old, for women it’s 40.

We understand that running trails

and ultras is easier on our body than the all those road half marathons we ran in our 20s. We’re in it for the hikes, the views, the travel, the sense of adventure, and of course, for our continued health and longevity.

We’re building something special.

Peak 38 is here to make endurance feel possible for anyone in their 30s, 40s, or beyond.

Through seasonal challenges, physical rewards, and a community of mountain-minded movers, we’re building something that’s part motivation, part movement.

Why I Started Peak 38

I’m 36. I’ve run over 50 half marathons, 5 fulls, and more local events than I can count. In my 20s, I was fast. Competitive. Obsessed with shaving seconds. But life happened—marriage, fatherhood, a cross-continental move from Seattle to Switzerland—and running slowly slipped away.

Then I remembered something from the book Born to Run: endurance athletes peak later than almost anyone else.
I’m not past my prime—I’m just getting started.

Peak 38 was born from that moment—a reboot, a commitment, and a belief that the miles ahead of us are more meaningful than the ones behind.

Even as I build this community and prep for my next big run, I’m still learning, I’m in this climb with you. And I believe that’s what makes this journey worth sharing.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.
